EMSELLA strengthens the pelvic floor muscles and improves quality of life for those with urinary incontinence. It can also be used to improve sexual satisfaction. There are 2 indications for EMSELLA treatment.
Incontinence: The pelvic floor muscles support the pelvic floor organs and help control our bladder. As we age, have children and go through the menopause this group of muscles can decondition. This can result in continence problems such as leaking urine when coughing or sneezing. This can also happen to men with prostate problems.
Sexual satisfaction: The treatment also triggers the production of new fibroblasts and collagen in the area, helping to make the tissues of the vaginal tissues more sensitive, and heightening sexual sensation. EMSELLA helps create a tighter vaginal canal and improves the sensation of the vaginal tissues. In men, Emsella can increase penile rigidity as well as increasing control over time until ejaculation.
How:
By sitting on a chair fully clothed for 28 minutes the chair stimulates your pelvic floor muscles using High Intensity Focused ElectroMagnetic Energy (HIFEM). This strengthen all the pelvic floor muscles, not just those that can be exercised with voluntary contractions (Kegel exercises). Each session is equivalent to over 10,000 pelvic floor exercises.
It is non invasive and can be used by both men and women.
Results:
A course of six sessions are required over a course of 3 weeks for optimum results. Results are first noticeable after 2-3 sessions. For urinary incontinence 95% of treated patients reported significant improvement in their quality of life. On average there was 75% reduction in the need for any pads.
