Aim:
Sometimes despite diet and exercise there are areas of fat that don’t seem to go away. The aim of fat dissolving injections is to reduce and eliminate these stubborn pockets of fat.
How:
By injecting products such as Aqualyx into areas of fat causing concern. Aqualyx main active ingredient is deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid, synthesized in the human liver used by the body to emulsify fat. This dissolves the fat by breaking down the fat cells. These cells are permanently destroyed and are filtered out of the body through the lymphatic system. The number of treatment sessions required to dissolve the fat will vary dependent on the person ranging from 2 — 6 treatment cycles.
Results:
The results from fat dissolvers start to work immediately but can take up to 4-8 weeks to see the full effect. During the first 2 weeks in particular some swelling will be noted in the area treated. This is mostly noticeable on the neck area.
